About the Event

On October 2, 2021, the SGVFD Fire Hogs M/C will be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Don Shawver Memorial Motorcycle Ride and Pete Goff Biker Games. The ride will be used to bring awareness to firefighter cancer, and all of the proceeds will go to The Firefighters Cancer Support Network

Division Chief Don Shawver was a retired member of the Arcadia Fire Department who passed away due to job-related cancer. He was an avid motorcyclist, and Don’s passing brought the San Gabriel Valley Fire Hogs together with his family to develop the Don Shawver Memorial Motorcycle Ride.

Come join us as we ride from Arcadia Fire Depatment (630 S Baldwin Ave.) up through the San Gabriel Mountains before ending the ride at Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. (150 E. St. Joseph St.) for music, lunch, fundraising to benefit The Firefighters Cancer Support Network, and entertaining biker games.

All are welcome! If you can’t make the ride, meet us at Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. for the luncheon, raffle, auction, biker games, and live music! The fundraising events at Mt. Lowe start at 0100 pm. Riders and Non-Riders are ALL WELCOME!

All riders and passengers must sign a rider release form in order to participate in the ride. Copies will be available at the Registration Booth.

No. The only requirement to ride is that you have a motorcycle license. There are no minimum requirements for passengers or those joining us for the raffle and 50/50 festivities.
  • Must I ride a motorcycle to participate?
No! We encourage those non-motorcycle riding folks to meet for the boat cruise, auction, and raffle to support The Firefighters Cancer Support Network. They can also join us to cheer on their favorite riders at the entertaining biker games at Mt. Lowe.
  • Will there be Fire Hogs merchandise available at the event?
Yes. There will be merchandise available for sale at a booth set up. There will be a limited supply of event-specific merchandise as well as Fire Hog swag from several of the Fire Hogs chapters.
  • How much of the money is donated?
With an ALL Volunteer staff, all proceeds made from the motorcycle ride go directly to The Firefighters Cancer Support Network.
